In brief: Alcentra appoints ESG trio

Three executives will integrate ESG into the private credit firm's lending strategies.

Alcentra, the private credit group of investment bank BNY Mellon, has appointed a team of ESG specialists to help the firm integrate responsible investing practices within its lending strategies.

“Credit markets are at a turning point […] of determining which companies will thrive, which ones will struggle and which will not survive,” Jonathan DeSimone, Alcentra’s chief executive, said in a statement. The trio comprises:

  • Ross Curran, head of responsible investing – Curran has spent 15 years working on Alcentra’s liquid credit portfolio and will be responsible for driving the group’s sustainability integration.
  • Adriana Carvallo, head of ESG integration – Carvallo was hired from Norwegian sovereign wealth fund Norges Bank Investment Management to lead Alcentra’s ESG integration.
  • Amanda Provencal, ESG analyst – Provencal has joined to work alongside Carvallo to support Alcentra’s ESG integration process.
