In brief: European trade associations to start pooling ESG data

The long-running European Data Cooperative will begin to gather ESG data on annual basis.

The European Data Cooperative, a joint data collection effort from European private capital associations, will this year start collecting ESG data from members, according to Invest Europe.

The EDC, through its predecessor organisation PEREP_Analytics, has been gathering European private equity data since 2007, focusing on financial activity such as fundraising and investment and economic impact (portfolio company job levels, EBITDA, etc).

The additional ESG data will cover “issues including climate change, female underrepresentation and bribery and corruption”, the statement said. The information will be gathered annually. Invest Europe has not released the list of datapoints in full.
