In brief: Pantheon leads Initiative Climat International’s APAC chapter launch

Initiative Climat International, private equity’s dedicated climate group, is opening an Asia-Pacific chapter with the support of Pantheon. iCI APAC will be chaired by Jie Gong, co-chair of Pantheon’s ESG committee.

iCI’s 206 members share best practices for measuring, reporting and reducing greenhouse gas emissions in private equity portfolios. Earlier this year, iCI launched a North American chapter, chaired by KKR’s Elizabeth Seeger, and developed a GHG emissions reporting framework for private equity.

Hong Kong-based Gong is something of an ESG veteran. She chairs the ESG committee of the Hong Kong Venture Capital and Private Equity Association and previously sat on the private equity advisory committee at Principles for Responsible Investment. iCI’s Asia-Pacific members include ICG Asia, Pacific Equity Partners, CVC Asia Pacific, KKR Asia, Flexstone Asia, Lightspeed China, and Warburg Pincus China and Southeast Asia.
