In brief: PR firm invests in ESG consultancy

Financial PR firm Prosek has invested in Blue Dot Capital, allowing the fledgling ESG consultant to expand its team and services.

Prosek Partners, a public relations firm that works with a number of private markets clients, has acquired a minority stake in a new ESG consultancy.

Blue Dot Capital is a five-person, 18-month-old consultancy with clients that manage assets of almost $450 billion. The New York-based firm offers asset managers platforms and technical systems to report their emissions data and other ESG performance metrics, Prosek told New Private Markets.

Blue Dot Capital is hiring several full-time senior associates and seeking sustainability professionals to partner on a project-by-project basis. It was founded in January 2020 by Sharadiya Dasgupta, previously a managing director at sustainability advisory Good Capital Project, a vice-president at Axis Bank and a regional head at Invesco Asset Management.

The consultancy also helps GPs develop their ESG policies and pathways to integrate it in their investment processes, and to produce client and public communications. Prosek is a PR firm for the finance industry, founded in 1990, and works with private markets clients such as Apollo Global Management, Vista Equity, CarVal and Cambridge Associates.

It has offices in the US and London. Prosek declined to comment on financial details of the investment.
