In brief: Real estate firm Hines appoints European ESG head

David Chang’s appointment follows the launch of Hines’ ESG strategy earlier this year.

Houston-headquartered real estate firm Hines has appointed Daniel Chang as European head of ESG.

Chang, previously a portfolio management MD at the firm, will lead Hines’ net-zero strategy for its European core fund and other decarbonisation initiatives, the firm said in a statement. The firm has raised €837 million for its second European core fund, according to affiliate title PERE’s database.

Hines launched an ESG strategy earlier this year, which includes decarbonisation in designing, constructing and operating assets. The firm appointed Peter Epping as global head of ESG in June 2021.

Chang will be based in London and report to Epping.
