Ben Harper joins Stonepeak after nearly 23 years at Zurich Insurance.

Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners has appointed Ben Harper as head of ESG.

Harper will develop the firm’s ESG policies, measurement and reporting and integrate ESG in its investment process and asset management, according to a statement.

Stonepeak is investing its $2.75 billion first renewables vehicle and has raised $10.78 billion for its flagship fourth fund, according to affiliate title Infrastructure Investor’s data. The firm’s responsible investment policy involves identifying ESG risks and planning to improve or mitigate these before investing, according to notes from a March 2021 Connecticut state public pension fund meeting.

Harper was previously at Zurich Insurance Company from 1998 to August 2021, and was head of corporate sustainability from October 2019, according to his LinkedIn profile.
