In brief: Summa opens in Palo Alto

Based in Palo Alto, three Summa Partners - Tommi Unkuri, Gustavo Salem and Nick Roelofs - will be joined by investment director Anna Ryrberg.

Sustainability-focused private equity firm Summa Equity has opened its first US office: its second outside its home region of the Nordics. New Private Markets subscribers have known for some time that the firm was planning a US office. Based in Palo Alto, three Summa partners Tommi Unkuri, Gustavo Salem and Nick Roelofs will be joined by “a number of Summa staff, including investment director Anna Ryrberg”, a spokesperson said. Summa was an early adopter of the UN Sustainable Development Goals as a private equity investment thesis; earlier this year it raised SKr23 billion ($2.3 billion; €2.3 billion) in four months for its third impact fund making it Europe’s largest private equity impact vehicle.
