In brief: Sustainability people moves at Stafford and Downing

Stafford's Michael Goodfellow assumes responsibility for the operations of the firm's sustainable investing, private markets and private credit offerings.

Stafford Capital Partners, the private markets firm, has promoted Michael Goodfellow from head of fund operations, real assets, to head of fund operations for the whole business globally, the firm said in a statement. In his new role he will “assume responsibility for Stafford’s sustainable investing, private markets and private credit offerings also, overseeing reporting, liquidity management, acquisitions, fund structuring and due diligence for Stafford’s 150+ institutional clients”, the firm said.

Downing, a UK-headquartered private markets firm focused on healthcare, property and infrastructure, has appointed its first head of ESG. Roger Lewis joins from River and Mercantile, where he was “responsible for overseeing the group’s ESG philosophy and core principles”, according to a statement. Lewis also previously held an ESG role within Aviva Investors’ real assets division.
