Data snapshot: ESG interest across markets

European investors remain the most interested in sustainable finance across global markets.

ESG and impact investing is gaining traction among private markets investors, but how fast that is happening depends on geography, according to an industry survey from the placement agent Probitas Partners.

After polling 71 institutional investors, the survey found European respondents had the highest interest in committing to impact funds, and a small portion of North American investors were the only remaining takers for oil and gas-related energy funds.

While a strong ESG policy grew in importance across all markets, European investors were further ahead than their Asian and North American counterparts.
