Data snapshot: Individual savers like private markets for the greenbacks, not the green creds

Individual investors are looking favourably at private markets strategies, with sustainability as one lesser consideration.

Individual investors are increasingly interested in private markets opportunities, with sustainability or impact considerations among the main drivers, according to a survey commissioned by Schroders. A poll of 23,000 individual savers around the world reported that, on average, they would consider allocating 16.4 percent of their funds into private assets, with impact or sustainability being the third most popular reason for doing so.

On the flipside, however, a manager’s impact and sustainability credentials were last on the list when it came to “top factors” these savers said they would consider before making a private markets investment.
