Several pension funds have created target allocations or siloed buckets dedicated to climate investments, recognising a high-growth sector propelled by tailwinds from finance, government and the public, and – in some cases – an imperative to make a positive extra-financial impact.

New Private Markets has been tracking these pension fund allocations over the past several years. We’ve noticed that they tend to cluster in the most developed and liberal economies around the world: 10 of the most notable pensions with such allocations are headquartered in US coastal states, Eastern Canada and Europe.
