Equistone unveils three ESG hires

The mid-market firm has added ESG managers in three of its offices.

Equistone Partners Europe, the mid-market private equity firm, has added three ESG specialists, the first dedicted ESG professionals to join its ranks. The firm has recruited ESG managers to three of its European offices: London, Paris and Munich.

  • In London, Jessica Clavette joins from sustainabilty consultancy Sancroft, where she worked with businesses and financial institutions. She previously worked on various projects addressing societal challenges around the world.
  • In Paris, Diane Vignalou is joining from consulting firm EthiFinance, where she worked with private equity, private debt and VC investors.
  • In Munich, the firm has appointed Sophia Nicol, who previously worked at EY in its sustainability service practice.

Equistone does not have a dedicated head of ESG. “ESG analysis and considerations are firmly embedded across our investment and portfolio management processes, with all our team members responsible for thinking about sustainability,” said Christiian Marriott, partner and head of investor relations at the firm, in a statement. “We therefore felt that the best way to drive further improvements was to add specialist, dedicated resource into our deal team.”

Equistone is currently investing its sixth buyout fund, which closed on €2.8 billion in 2018.
