IMRF strengthens commitment to minority investment managers

The IMRF has increased its allocation to minority owned managers to 22%.

The Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund has increased its assets under management target for minorities, women and persons with disabilities from 20 percent to 22 percent.

The US public pension fund has a strong history of working with minority managers, having previously committed $476 million to minority owned managers between November 2022 and September 2023.

In order to qualify for the IMRF’s minority manager programme, firms must be 51 percent or more owned by individuals that are minorities, women or persons with a disability and hold permanent residents in the US.
