In brief: AEA hires Heidi DuBois to help lead ESG reporting

The private markets firm recently committed to the ESG Data Convergence Project which seeks to standardise sustainability reporting.

AEA Investors is formalising its ESG strategy. The mid-market private equity firm announced the hire of governance and compliance expert Heidi DuBois last week to the newly created position of global head of ESG. Earlier in February, AEA Investors committed to the ESG Data Convergence Project, a private markets initiative seeking to standardise ESG reporting by collecting and aggregating data and metrics.

DuBois has spent more than 20 years focused on sustainability, corporate governance and investor engagement, according to a statement about her hire. She previously worked as head of ESG for the public relations consultant Edelman, and before that DuBois was ESG director for the non-profit group Society for Corporate Governance.

AEA Investors manages around $14 billion in capital. The US-based firm manages equity and debt strategies investing in sectors including manufacturing and distribution, consumer products and business services companies.
