Apollo Global Management has recruited Waleed Elgohary as a partner in its London climate equity team.
Elgohary has joined from CPP Investments, where he spent seven years as a managing director in the sustainable energies group. He will be charged with leading Apollo’s climate equity investment opportunities across EMEA, according to a Linkedin post from the firm.
In May, Apollo’s co-president Scott Kleinman said the firm expected to launch a dedicated clean transition private equity strategy in the third quarter of this year. The strategy would sit within Apollo’s multi-strategy clean transition platform, from which it plans to invest $50 billion by 2027.
