In brief: Blue Earth commits $20m to African infra fund

The impact specialist has committed to AIIM's fourth fund, which is targeting investments in digital infrastructure, energy transition and mobility subsectors.

Blue Earth Capital has committed $20 million to African Infrastructure Investment Managers‘s (AIIM) fourth fund, which seeks to invest in sustainable projects in the region.

AIIM has $2.7 billion assets under management and a portfolio that spans 19 African countries. African Infrastructure Investment Fund 4 has a target of $500 million and received funding from a number of development finance institutions last year. The fund is “targeting growth and value-add infrastructure within the digital infrastructure, energy transition and mobility subsectors”, according to a statement.

Blue Earth capital is a specialist impact firm set up by the founders of Partners Group and has both direct and fund investing strategies. It closed its second impact credit fund at $108.5 million earlier this month.
