In brief: BlueMark appoints Europe chief

After raising some seed capital, the impact verification outfit is building its European presence.

Impact verification firm BlueMark has hired an executive from philanthropic organisation Luminate to lead its European business, it said this week. Paige Nicol was the director of strategy and insights at Luminate, where she was responsible for “designing and overseeing the organisation’s strategy to maximize the impact of its global portfolio of grants, investments and initiatives,” said BlueMark.

BlueMark provides external assessment of an organisation’s impact investing processes, and has worked with a long list of prominent impact managers and investors, including KKR, LeapFrog Investments, EBRD and Partners Group. You can see a fuller list here and read the individual verification reports. Around 40 percent of its assignments so far have been with European clients.

Currently a team of 21 predominantly US-based professionals, Bluemark recently raised seed capital from a combination of venture capital firms and foundations as it plots its international expansion. London-based Nicol will join two existing European team members, with two further European additions planned.
