In brief: Brookfield receives UVic commitment – Correction

The Canadian LP allocated C$25m to Brookfield’s Global Transition Fund.

The University of Victoria Foundation (UVic) has committed to Brookfield’s Global Transition Fund.

UVic’s board approved the C$25 million ($20 million; €18.1 million) in December as part of its infrastructure strategy and in line with a new responsible investment policy announced last November. Brookfield is in the final stages of fundraising for its $15 billion energy transition fund, after launching last February with a $7.5 billion target and $12.5 billion hard-cap.

This article has been corrected to remove reference to a failed bid for a company in Australia and reflect the fact that the University of Victoria Foundation is a Canadian, rather than an Australian, investor.
