In brief: Circularity boosts investment team with Deanna Zhang hire

The Edinburgh-based private equity firm is raising its second growth capital fund targeting investments in Europe’s circular economy.

Circularity Capital has added Deanna Zhang to its roster of investing expertise as the firm raises its second European growth fund. The Edinburgh-based firm hired Zhang as an investment director from L-GAM, a private fund partnered with a family office in Liechtenstein.

Last month, Circularity invested in Cocogreen, a company that uses coconut by-products to produce a substrate to grow fruits and salads. That deal came from Circularity European Growth Fund I, which raised £60 million ($82 million; €72 million) between 2017 and 2018. Circularity is currently in the market with a successor vehicle that has raised £135 million so far for mid-market investments in sectors including industrial and business services, consumer, and healthcare.
