In brief: CPP backs Summa’s third fund

Summa has recently become a B-Corporation and is expanding its horizons beyond its Nordic roots.

CPP Investments, the world’s largest investor in private equity according to affiliate title Private Equity International‘s Global Investor 100, has committed €50 million to Summa Equity’s latest fund, the pension reported. Summa is raising Fund III, having closed its second fund on Skr6.50 billion ($740 million; €650 million) in 2018.

Summa is a Northern European private markets firm that could be described as a ‘native’ of private markets sustainability, having been established in 2016 to invest in UN Sustainable Development Goals-aligned investments that fit within three broad themes: resource efficiency, changing demographics and tech-enabled businesses. It recently became a B-Corporation and is expanding its investment horizons beyond its Nordic roots.
