In brief: ESG-focused Summa adds three partners

Three partners will bolster sustainability-focused Summa’s investment and portfolio management capabilities.

Summa Equity, a Nordic sustainability-focused private equity firm with €1.6 billion in assets under management, has added three partners to its deal generation and portfolio management ranks.

Stockholm-headquartered Summa aims for “net-positive impact against ESG challenges, and the potential for long-term, sustainable outperformance”, by investing across three themes: resource efficiency, changing demographics and tech-enabled businesses, the firm said in a statement.

  • Belgium-based Christoph Waer will focus on deal generation in healthcare and life sciences in the changing demographics theme. Waer previously managed life sciences deal generation for family office Korys.
  • Stockholm-based Tim He was formerly an investment director at Swedish investment firm Kinnevik and will work on Summa’s tech-enabled transformation theme.
  • Matthias Fink will join Summa’s newly created Munich office in November and will concentrate on the firm’s resource efficiency and tech-enabled transformation themes. Fink has also worked at investment firm The Riverside Company and Boston Consulting Group.
