In brief: Galvanize hires climate-tech specialist as chief impact officer

Nicole Systrom has spent her career developing start-up ventures and solutions seeking to address the climate crisis.

Galvanize Climate Solutions has created the new position of chief impact officer and hired for the role climate-tech specialist Nicole Systrom.

Systrom is joining Galvanize, a mission-driven investment platform launched last September by Tom Steyer, a US billionaire entrepreneur, to help the firm “produce and scale vital and urgent climate solutions”, according to a statement released by the firm.

Her work at Galvanize begins this month, 13 years after she launched Sutro Energy Group, a consulting firm that advises start-ups seeking to address climate change.

Previously, Systrom worked at venture-backed company TerraPass, where she managed a project that reduced 250,000 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions across the US.
