In brief: Individual investor-focused climate fund hits first close

Carbon Equity – which funnels high-net-worth individuals' capital into managers like Energy Impact Partners and Lightrock – has raised €50m from 100 investors.

Carbon Equity, a climate-focused fund of funds, has raised €50 million from 100 individual investors for its second vehicle, the firm said.

As previously reported by New Private Markets, Amsterdam-based Carbon Equity is targeting €75 million for this vintage and is open to individual investors with a minimum ticket size of €100,000.

Jacqueline van den Ende, co-founder and CEO, previously described the firm as “the impact alternative to Moonfare”, referring to a firm that is among the vanguard of platforms bringing private markets opportunities to mass affluent investors.

The Carbon Equity proposition: “invest alongside seven to 10 world-renowned climate venture capital and private equity funds with a single investment ticket.” Managers include Energy Impact Partners, Lightrock, 2150 and Astanor Ventures, the firm said in a press release.
