Just Climate, the climate offshoot of sustainability-focused Generation Investment Management, has hired Souleymane Ba as a partner on the platform’s investment team. Ba joins Just Climate’s executive and investment committees.
London-based Ba was most recently a partner at Africa-focused Helios Investment Partners, where he worked for 10 years. He previously held roles at Warburg Pincus, the Carlyle Group and Morgan Stanley.
Shaun Kingsbury, Just Climate’s chief investment officer, said in a statement: “We believe [Ba’s] expertise and experience, gained from investing in developed and developing markets and across a range of industries, will enable Just Climate to deliver solutions with potential for the greatest and fastest climate impact across some of the highest-emitting sectors of the global economy.”
Just Climate is preparing to launch several industry-focused funds that straddle venture capital, private equity, infrastructure and credit strategies.
