In brief: New Zealand infra manager signs up to SBTI

The Science-Based Targets initiative has become the dominant global body for validating emissions reductions targets.

Morrison & Co, a New Zealand-based real assets firm, and Infratil, a listed infrastructure investor it manages, have committed to establishing science-based emission reduction targets, according to an announcement. “Their respective commitments have been registered with the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) under the Financial Institutions framework,” they said.

The SBTi has become the dominant global body for validating emissions reductions targets. UK healthcare foundation The Wellcome Trust recently described it as its “preferred verification initiative” and encouraged its private equity GPs to engage with it.
