In brief: Ocean 14 Capital receives B Corp certification

The impact manager scored 94.4 in the B Labs assessment.

Marine impact manager Ocean 14 Capital has been certified as a B Corp, according to a statement from the firm.

B Corp status is an independently verified certification of a company’s sustainability credentials. It is administered by non-profit B Labs, which measures the impact of companies’ operations on the “environment, communities, customers, suppliers, employees and shareholders” using its B Impact Assessment Tool. The certification has been conferred on several private markets firms including Future Business Partnership, Astanor Ventures, Verdane, Tower Brook Capital Partners, Helios Investment Partners, Summa Equity, Atomico, Ambienta, Abris Capital Partners and Newcore Capital.

Firms must achieve a score of at least 80 to achieve certification. Ocean 14 scored 94.4, according to the B Corp website.

Ocean 14 Capital launched its debut fund in 2021, which invests in businesses developing products to help regenerate ocean health. It passed its $150 million target last year.
