Orchard Street Investment Management, a UK-focused real estate investment firm, has recruited a new ESG head. Kathryn Barber was previously sustainability lead at listed property investor GPE, where she was responsible for a number of initiatives spanning environmental and social impact, as well as all voluntary and mandatory reporting.

Barber replaces Lora Brill, who left Orchard Street at the start of the year to join sustainability consultancy Ramboll. Brill will continue to advise Orchard Street, according to a press release.

Orchard Street launched an impact fund – Orchard Street Social and Environmental Impact Partnership – in 2022. The fund, which was cornerstoned by the Brunel Pension Partnership, has 30 percent of its compensation tied to impact goals, New Private Markets reported at the time of its launch. The firm did not comment on fundraising progress for the impact fund.
