In brief: Temasek Trust, S&P Global and Ford Foundation back BlueMark

Independent verification providers such as BlueMark 'are vital in assessing and assuring that investors are delivering on their impact claims and commitments', says Temasek Trust's Dawn Chan.

The Ford Foundation and Temasek Trust Capital are backing BlueMark to expand its “vital” impact verification, benchmarks and data services. BlueMark has raised $10 million in Series A funding to expand “across different industries and geographies, with a particular focus on Asia”, according to a press release. S&P Global is the funding round’s lead investor; other participants include the Ford Foundation, Temasek Trust, Radicle Impact and family offices Blue Haven Initiative, Tsao Family Office and Gunung Capital.

“Independent experts are vital in assessing and assuring that investors are delivering on their impact claims and commitments,” Temasek Trust managing director Dawn Chan said in the statement, echoing positions previously expressed by CBRE Investment Management and the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation.
