In brief: US pensions veteran joins fund manager

Caprock, which manages over $2bn of impact capital, has hired Christopher Schelling as director of private investment.

Christopher Schelling has joined Caprock as director of private investment, according to a LinkedIn post from the firm.

Caprock is an American wealth management platform focussing on family offices, and primarily focuses on the private markets. The firm has advised on over $2 billion of impact capital across six asset classes in the last decade, according to its website.

Schelling has held multiple positions at US pension funds, including: chief investment officer for Kentucky Public Pensions Authority; and private equity director at Texas Municipal Retirement System. He also serves as a global investor advisory board member for The Alternative Investment Management Association. His new role will see him lead the Caprock’s strategy to deploy over $4 billion in private capital.
