In brief: Verdane appoints chief sustainability and decarbonisation officer

Verdane, the B Corp growth equity, secondaries and impact fund manager, has appointed its first chief sustainability officer to support portfolio companies to decarbonise. Peter Roberts, chief sustainability and commercial decarbonisation officer, joined Verdane in November and is based in Stockholm. He sits in Elevate, a department dedicated to providing operational support and resources to Verdane’s portfolio companies.

Roberts joins Verdane from H2 Green Steel, a developer of hydrogen-powered steel manufacturing plants. H2 Green Steel raised €1.5 billion from investors including Just Climate, GIC, and Ardian-Five T Hydrogen joint venture Hy24 earlier this year.
