In brief: Coller marketing alum founds DEI-focused recruiter

The firm, called Follett Parker, aims 'to advise businesses to hire through a considered lens, outside of the conventional modus operandi of recruitment,' the founder says.

Sandra Hatugari, who spent seven years in the marketing function at Coller Capital, has founded an executive search business to specialise in diverse candidates in private markets and the wider asset management industry.

The firm, called Follett Parker, aims “to advise businesses to hire through a considered lens, outside of the conventional modus operandi of recruitment”, said Hatugari. “For example, I think unconscious bias is taking up too much space in the current DEI discussion.”

Diversity, equity and inclusion has developed from an occasional talking point among sustainability and HR professionals to an issue material to investor due diligence and fundraising. More than one in 10 limited partners has declined a fund opportunity based on a lack of diversity, equity and inclusion at the GP, according to PEI Group’s annual LP Perspectives survey.

While at secondaries firm Coller Capital, Hatugari worked with the then HR partner to establish the firm’s DEI working group, Hatugari told New Private Markets.
