In brief: Montagu hires ESG manager

Kim Woehl will support net zero target-setting in the European PE firm’s portfolio companies.

Montagu Private Equity has appointed Kim Woehl as ESG manager.

Woehl will report to Montagu’s portfolio and insights director Michael Carratt, who oversees the firm’s ESG strategy and policy, a spokesperson told New Private Markets.

In this role, Woehl “will help develop and refine Montagu’s existing ESG processes and procedures as well as support the ESG efforts of its portfolio companies, with a particular focus on ESG action plans for the issues most material to portfolio companies, such as putting in place net-zero targets”, the spokesperson said.

Woehl was previously a manager at PwC, focusing on ESG and impact measurement and responsible investment.

The London-headquartered firm manages assets worth €9 billion and focuses on European markets. It is investing its sixth fund, which was launched in 2019 with a €3 billion target. Montagu embeds ESG into every stage of its investment process, the firm said in a statement.
