In brief: Palatine-backed Anthesis acquires food sustainability consultancy

Sustainability consultancy Anthesis has plans to 'scale its impact in the food sector' as investors put food sustainability under the spotlight.

Sustainability consultancy Anthesis is growing its food and agriculture services with the acquisition of Provision Coalition, a Canadian sustainability consultancy specialising in this sector. Anthesis received a significant minority investment from private equity firm Palatine’s first impact fund in March 2021. The consultancy contributed to the Science Based Targets initiative’s guidance for private equity firms, issued in November 2021.

Anthesis is “growing its operations in North America and scaling its impact in the food sector”, the consultancy said in a statement. Investors and managers are seeking investment opportunities in sustainable food solutions to create environmental and social impact.
